Being a year two student in psychology studies, we had to conduct a three session long implementation to help modify a target behaviour as part of our service learning project. The target behaviour that my group chose based on our observation, is having difficulty sitting still during their study and revision time.

 

Aligned to our target behaviour, we chose the topic impulse control as having difficulties remaining still is one of the characteristics for hyperactivity and impulsivity. Our group conducted this implementation to six primary four students in Woodlands Student Care Corner across a span of two weeks inclusive of celebration day.

 

We carried out various games that were all related to helping them control their impulses, such as Spider Web, Flip The Mat as well as an activity dedicated just to summarising important tips of impulse control.
